The Martin House seeks to make tours, programs, resources, and facilities accessible by removing barriers and providing opportunities for meaningful engagement.
Accessible Parking
There is a handicapped parking spot behind the Greatbatch Pavilion. Please call 716.856.3858 x301 in advance of your visit to inquire about availability.
Wheelchair / Mobility Access
The majority of the Martin House 75-minute tour is wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the 2nd floor of the Martin House and the pergola. In addition, walkers are not allowed on the 2nd floor of the Martin House.
Our Greatbatch Pavilion Visitor Center and Museum Store are accessible, as are many of the outdoor areas, which can be accessed without reservations. The Martin House Plus tour is not wheelchair accessible.
There is a considerable amount of walking, standing, and stair-climbing involved in most of our tours. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. There are very few places to sit down on the tour.
Service Animals
The Martin House is happy to welcome service animals on site. We do not allow therapy animals into any of the historic or visitor spaces.
Audio/Visual Accessibility
While our current pre-tour video does not have captions, a script is available at the front desk. Please inquire upon arrival.
Large-Print Labels
Large-print brochures for Self-Guided Tours are available at the front desk. Please inquire upon arrival.
Foreign Language Translations
The Martin House is honored to welcome guests from all over the world, as well as members of our community, for whom English is a second language. Our public tours are delivered in English, so we offer foreign language paper handouts upon arrival to enhance the experience. We offer these handouts in the following languages:

Access Tours
The Martin House partners with the Albright-Knox to offer limited summer programs through the Alzheimer’s Association as well as multi-sensory tours for guests who are blind or low-sighted. Visit the Albright-Knox website for more information.

Virtual Program Accessibility

The Martin House is accessible to every school and student, with experiences that can accommodate special education students, foreign exchange students, ELL students, and ESL students. Please indicate any special needs your group may have on the inquiry form.
