University of Victoria does the "Wright" thing

On October 25th, we welcome back seven original art glass windows through the generous act of repatriation by the University of Victoria in Victoria, BC.

This significant contribution will be celebrated in tandem with Darwin D. Martin's (would be) 152nd birthday, and we will also welcome Stuart Graff, CEO of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, to speak at this exciting event.

On October 13, Martin House presents Write on Wright: a panel discussion featuring leading design critics across the country to examine Wright's writings and the state of architectural criticism today.

Free and open to the public, join us in hearing these panelists explore the dynamic relationship between the media and architecture.

Limited spaces available, be sure to save your seat!.

The Belt Line Bash

Friday, Sept. 22 | 5:30 - 8:30pm
Hosted at Larkin Square

It's our biggest fundraiser of the year: fun & games, drinks, and delicious food, all for a good cause.  Tickets will sell out!

Foo Lions (also known as Fu Dogs) traditionally guarded the entry to Buddhist Temples in Japan and China. The lions are usually depicted in pairs consisting of a male resting his paw upon an embroidered ball (in imperial contexts, representing supremacy over the world) and a female retraining a playful cub (representing nurture).

Replica of a pair of Lions at Taliesin cast in resin with a verdigris finish.
